Eight University of Iowa students of Russian participated in 8 in the University of Pittsburgh's recent Russian Language Olympiada. Competing in three categories –poem recital, culture project presentation, and an interview– with students from around the country, our students earned medals.

• GOLD medals: Adam Hamer, Bryce Olsen, Mary Johnson
• SILVER medals: India Clay, Liam Roush
• BRONZE medals: Cynthia Moran, James Breitbart, Jacob Siefke.

Bryce Olsen and Liam Roush also got honorable mentions in the essay competition.

Bryce Olsen also received the 2022 ACTR Post- Secondary Russian Scholar Laureate Award for his overall achievement in studying Russian.
